Client: Microsoft Office 2013
Role: Designer, Art director
Challenge:
Part of the team tasked with refreshing the Office 2010 icon style for the upcoming Office 2013 release. Extensive explorations included developing a grid system, line weight, color palette, color application, line spacing, simplification of metaphors, angles, outlines vs.fills and perspective.
Solution:
Once the style was established, we created common elements or building blocks to be used in the creation of all other icons. This was extremely helpful in maintaining consistency between thousands of icons.
Multiple sizes were created in order to support high dpi devices.
